Rise and shine
Rise and shine

Needless to say it is a family phrase and not usually used for people who do not live in the same house together. It originated in the 1800’s and is a good way of greeting people as one wakes them up. To act lively would mean that a person would do well. It was almost a compulsion to be active since the day would be a long one every day and to start positively meant that it went on better. The phrase is said to have originated in the military operations where soldiers would be asked to wake up early and start their activities in an enthusiastic manner.
